Fishing Report Dec 7, 2016

Good morning from Garrison Bite marina in beautiful Key West,Florida! Fishing has been consistent this last week as we move away from the seasonal transition period and get closer to our true winter fishery. We have been seeing an increasing number of migratory sailfish showing up during our kite fishing sessions along with increasing numbers of kingfish, blackfin tunas and occasional mahi mahi and cobia. On our numerous wrecks between ‘200 and ‘350 feet we have been producing a fair amount of action on groupers, mutton snappers and big amberjacks. This trend should only be getting better as we close into the new year. Live bait fishing employing several different tactics including kite fishing and dropping larger baits on the wrecks have been the way to go. Blue runners, herring and pilchards have been the baitfish of choice recently and have been relatively abundant. Feel free to contact us for any inquiries, and keep in mind our schedule is filling in fast! We hope to see you soon aboard ” Booya”, simply the best in Key West!

Tight lines,

Captain Lee Daniel Kerbel
